600 Monroe Avenue NW is a distinguished five-story, Class C mixed-use office and residential building in Grand Rapids’ Monroe North district, originally constructed in the mid-1880s. The building anchors a corner of one of the city’s most rapidly transforming neighborhoods — a corridor increasingly defined by lively cultural programming, Grand River views, and major adjacent developments.

The ground floor of the Monroe Terrace building is home to Speak EZ, a vibrant gastropub-style lounge and gathering spot operated under 3C Restaurants. With its entrance on Trowbridge Avenue, Speak EZ programs trivia nights, live music, and a steady stream of sports-night and community-event traffic — serving as the social hub for the upscale residential condos that occupy the floors above.

The 600 Monroe project represents a recurring Third Coast Development thesis: that historic Grand Rapids buildings, restored with care and paired with thoughtful ground-floor programming, can anchor entire neighborhoods. The combination of preserved 1880s architecture, contemporary residential units above, and an active street-level tenant gives 600 Monroe a presence on the block that newer construction in the same district has not been able to match.
